Simple Ways to Save Water

I’ve researched simple ways to save water. If each of us does their part, we might have clean water to drink for longer. Also, saving water is a way to save money, which could be a good way to advertise this idea. Some people might not be concerned about the world running out of water, but they might care about their pocketbook. So here are some ways to save water and money in your house:

In the bathroom:

1) Close the faucet while brushing your teeth and shaving. Only use the water when it is necessary.

2) Don’t take long showers. Install a low-flow showerhead.

3) Make sure your toilet is working properly and fix leaks promptly.

In the kitchen:

1) Before washing the dishes, clean them with a napkin.

2) Only open the faucet to rinse. Don’t keep the water running all the time.

3) Only use the dishwasher when it is fully loaded.

4) Don’t pour water out of the drain if it can be used for something else, like watering plants.

5) Don’t drink bottled water.

In the laundry room:

1) Wait to use the washing machine when it is fully loaded.

Outside:

1) Wash you car using a bucket, do not use a hose.

2) Clean your driveway and sidewalk with a broom instead of using water.

If everyone follows these simple steps, they could save a lot of water and money. An idea for this project would be to propose that people follow these tips for a month, and then they should check their water bill to see how much they saved.
